The company has added a "Voice speed" option to the ChatGPT web app, allowing users to adjust how fast the AI speaks. With a slider, you can set the speed from 0.5x to 2.0x. These settings are currently not visible to users.
Another new feature is a "custom instructions prefix," which enables Voice mode to remember your specific instructions without you having to repeat them. This new prompt is designed to prevent user instructions from affecting the actual words in the AI's responses.
In addition to the Voice mode updates, OpenAI also rolled out an upgraded model selector. This new feature gives users access to GPT-5 models, with options for "high," "fast," and "auto" modes. Furthermore, OpenAI has restored the GPT-4o model for paid users.
