Virtue AI Secures $30M Funding to Tackle Key Risks in AI Deployment

Virtue AI Secures $30M Funding to Tackle Key Risks in AI Deployment

Virtue AI, a San Francisco-based startup focused on securing enterprise AI deployments, has raised $30 million in combined Seed and Series A funding.

The funding round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Walden Catalyst Ventures.

Among its early backers is Intel’s CEO Lip Bu Tan, signaling strong confidence in Virtue AI’s vision. The company is positioning itself to meet growing demand for tools that enable enterprises to implement generative AI without compromising on security, safety, or privacy.

Virtue AI aims to deliver an enterprise-grade platform designed to assess, build, and manage AI systems that are secure, privacy-conscious, and trustworthy.

“With the rise of agentic AI systems in enterprise environments, the AI security market—already worth billions—is set to expand further,” the company stated. However, it cautioned that conventional cybersecurity methods fall short when applied to AI, leaving businesses vulnerable to threats such as data poisoning, hallucinations, prompt injections, and jailbreak attacks. These issues not only pose cybersecurity risks but also complicate regulatory compliance.

To address this, Virtue AI offers a range of products including VirtueRed, a risk assessment tool for AI models, systems, and agents. It incorporates over 100 red-teaming algorithms and evaluates across more than 320 safety parameters aligned with compliance standards. Integrated into DevOps workflows, VirtueRed delivers consistent and scalable risk assessments.

The product suite also features:

  • VirtueGuard-Text – for long-context text applications
  • VirtueGuard-Image – tailored for image-based AI use cases
  • VirtueGuard-Video – designed for real-time video applications
  • VirtueAgent – customizable AI agents built with safety and security at their core

The newly secured funding will support research and development, global market expansion, and hiring efforts focused on advancing AI safety and security.
