A cyberattack has crippled the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, knocking out its website, email, and landline systems. Attorney General Dave Sunday confirmed the breach and said staff are working with law enforcement to investigate and restore services.
Though no group has claimed responsibility, the scale of disruption suggests a ransomware attack. Cybersecurity expert Kevin Beaumont previously flagged vulnerable Citrix NetScaler devices on the office’s network, tied to CVE-2025-5777 also known as Citrix Bleed 2.
Thousands of systems remain exposed globally, with the Netherlands’ National Cyber Security Centre reporting active exploitation since May. The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has now listed the flaw in its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, urging immediate patching.
