German sportswear company Adidas said on Friday that an unauthorized external party
accessed certain consumer data through a third-party customer service provider. However, the breach did not involve passwords or credit card information.
"We immediately took steps to contain the incident and launched a thorough investigation, working with top information security experts," the company stated.
According to Adidas, the compromised data primarily included contact details of consumers who had previously reached out to its customer service help desk. The company added that it is currently in the process of notifying potentially affected individuals.
