Cartier Confirms Data Breach, Advises Customers to Stay Vigilant
Cartier, the iconic French luxury brand renowned for adorning royalty and billionaires with diamond-studded timepieces, has confirmed a data breach following a cyberattack on its systems. The company recently notified its clients, with the message circulating widely on social media platform X.
According to Cartier, the breach exposed customer names, email addresses, and countries of residence. The company emphasized that no passwords, credit card details, or banking information were accessed during the incident.
“We contained the issue and have further enhanced the protection of our systems and data,” the company stated in its notice. It also advised customers to watch for any unsolicited or suspicious messages, which could be part of phishing attempts targeting compromised data.
Cartier is not the only luxury brand targeted recently. Over the past month, major fashion names have also confirmed cyber incidents. German sportswear giant Adidas and French fashion house Dior both reported unauthorized accesses involving customer data.
In these cases, the compromised data reportedly included names, email addresses, phone numbers, birth dates, and other personal information. Both companies assured customers that no financial data was exposed in their respective breaches.
