Amazon Introduces AI Agent to Streamline Seller Workflows

Amazon Introduces AI Agent to Streamline Seller Workflows

Amazon revealed on Wednesday that it is launching a new AI agent designed to help sellers manage their businesses more efficiently. The update enhances Seller Assistant, Amazon’s AI tool for third-party sellers, enabling it to take on tasks directly and operate continuously in support of sellers.

According to Amazon’s press release, the AI agent is built to integrate smoothly across the entire selling process. Sellers can shift from handling every detail themselves to working alongside an intelligent assistant that operates proactively and remains under their control. Seller Assistant is now equipped to manage everything from daily operations to strategic planning, allowing sellers to concentrate on growth and innovation.

The upgraded tool can monitor account health and inventory, assist with strategy development, and take action when authorized. For instance, while reviewing inventory, Seller Assistant can identify slow-moving items before they incur long-term storage fees and suggest whether to keep, discount, or remove them. It also analyzes demand trends and offers shipment recommendations.

Seller Assistant keeps a constant watch on seller accounts, flagging potential issues such as listings that may violate new safety regulations. It can also verify that products meet compliance standards in every country where they are sold.

The concept of agent-driven commerce is gaining momentum among tech companies, who envision a future where AI agents can negotiate deals or make purchases on behalf of users. Just this week, Google introduced a new payments protocol for agent-led transactions, although Amazon was not listed as a partner.

In addition to business management, Amazon is expanding its AI capabilities into advertising. Sellers will soon be able to create ads using conversational prompts, making campaign development more intuitive and efficient.

Amazon’s latest announcement adds to its growing lineup of AI tools designed for third-party sellers. Previous releases include a video generator for creating ads and a generative AI feature that helps merchants enhance their product listings.
