ChatGPT’s Deep Research to Get “Download as PDF” Feature for Better Report Formatting
ChatGPT’s Deep Research feature, which enables autonomous multi-step research on complex topics, is now testing a new option that allows users to download reports as PDFs.
This feature allows the AI to independently process your prompt, scan the internet, and compile a detailed report using data from hundreds of websites. Currently, users can copy the generated content, but this method often results in formatting issues when pasting into word processors like Microsoft Word.
BleepingComputer reports that in its tests, the copied text loses its original structure and layout, creating a poor user experience. The upcoming “Download as PDF” option could solve this problem by preserving the original formatting.
According to a post by Tibor on X, the PDF export option is now being tested within the ChatGPT web app. However, it remains unclear when this feature will be widely available or whether it will apply to standard ChatGPT responses or just Deep Research reports.
Once rolled out, the PDF option will likely appear beside the copy button on the generated report interface, offering a more convenient and accurate way to save the output.
Additionally, OpenAI is introducing a GitHub connector for Deep Research, available to users on the ChatGPT Teams subscription, allowing deeper integration with coding projects.
