Dell Launches AI Servers with Nvidia Chips to Drive Enterprise Use

Dell Technologies announced new servers on Monday that are powered by Nvidia’s Blackwell Ultra chips,

aiming to take advantage of the rising demand for artificial intelligence systems.

These servers are available in both air-cooled and liquid-cooled options. They can support up to 192 Nvidia Blackwell Ultra chips, with the option to configure up to 256 chips. According to Dell, the new servers can train AI models up to four times faster than earlier models. Arthur Lewis, President of Dell's Infrastructure Solutions Group, told Reuters that pricing will be “competitive” and noted significant interest in upcoming advancements.

Both Dell and Super Micro Computer have gained from the surge in demand for servers built to manage complex AI workloads. However, the high production costs and intense competition have impacted their profit margins.

In February, Dell projected a decrease in its adjusted gross margin rate for fiscal 2026. Similarly, Super Micro recently forecast fourth-quarter revenue below expectations, citing economic uncertainties related to tariffs.

Lewis said Dell will prioritize boosting sales of networking and storage products to maintain healthy profitability.

The new servers will also support Nvidia’s upcoming Vera central processing units, which will replace the current Grace server processor. Dell plans to accommodate Nvidia’s Vera Rubin chips, expected to follow the Blackwell series.

In addition, Dell introduced a new laptop on Monday called the 'Pro Max Plus,' which is designed specifically for AI development. It features a neural processing unit that allows engineers to run large AI models directly on the device, removing the need for cloud services.
