Google Wallet Ends PayPal Integration for US Users — Action Required

Google Wallet users in the United States have a limited window to verify their payment methods following a recent change to the platform’s PayPal integration.

Launched in 2022, Google Wallet has become a widely used digital payment solution across more than 90 countries, supporting a broad range of banks and payment providers. One key convenience for users has been the ability to link their PayPal accounts, allowing seamless payments without the need to duplicate payment methods.

However, as per Google’s support documentation, US users have not been able to link new PayPal accounts to Google Wallet since April 11, 2025. Furthermore, starting June 13, 2025, any PayPal accounts previously linked to Google Wallet will be disabled for payments and subsequently removed from the platform.

Google is advising users who rely on PayPal for recurring payments or subscriptions to update their payment methods promptly to avoid service interruptions.

While this change affects US users exclusively, Google confirmed that PayPal integration remains available in Germany, though it has not provided a detailed explanation for discontinuing the service stateside.

Despite this adjustment, Google Wallet continues to support numerous other payment options, including major credit card networks like Visa and Mastercard, as well as debit cards, prepaid cards, and other digital wallets.

With over 25 million users in the US alone, Google Wallet remains a significant player in the digital payments space, adapting its services to meet evolving partnerships and user needs.
