Dubai RTA Expands Free Wi-Fi Across Public Transport Stations
Dubai RTA, in partnership with e&, expands free Wi-Fi to 29 transport stations, enhancing digital connectivity for bus and marine commuters. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in partnership with e& (Etisalat), has successfully rolled out free Wi-Fi at 17 public bus stations and 12 marine transport stations as part of its ongoing digital transformation initiative.
Key Highlights of the Initiative:
- Current Coverage: Wi-Fi is now available in 29 stations (17 bus & 12 marine transport stations).
- Upcoming Expansion: The project aims to cover all 43 RTA stations (21 bus & 22 marine transport stations) by Q2 2025.
- Seamless Connectivity: Commuters can stay connected on smartphones, tablets, and laptops while traveling.
- Smart City Vision: Aligns with Dubai’s goal of becoming the world’s smartest and happiest city.
- Ongoing Evaluation: RTA and e& will continuously assess and enhance service quality.

Khaled AbdulRahman Al Awadhi, Director of Transportation Systems, RTA’s Public Transport Agency, emphasized that the initiative aims to:
