Nintendo Delays Launch of $100 Alarm Clock

Nintendo has announced that its feature-packed alarm clock will be available exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online members until March 2025.

Originally set for a wider release in mid-January 2025, the launch has now been delayed until early March, according to a post from Nintendo on X. The Nintendo Sound Clock, nicknamed ‘Alarmo,’ features motion sensors that let users snooze alarms with simple gestures, along with other advanced functionalities.

The device includes alarms inspired by five popular games: Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4, and Ring Fit Adventure. Users can select from seven soundscapes per game, offering a total of 35 unique wake-up tones.

Nintendo account holders can download additional alarm sounds, including those from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

One standout feature of the Alarmo clock is its ability to track nighttime movements using motion sensors. It records sleep data, including time spent in bed, movement during sleep, and how long it takes to wake up.

For now, the device is available exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online members in the U.S. and Canada. After March, it will be sold only through the My Nintendo Store in the UK and Ireland for Switch Online members. The alarm clock is priced at $99.99.

As Nintendo gears up for the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, the company has been unveiling unexpected gadgets and apps.

Alongside Alarmo, Nintendo has also introduced Nintendo Music, a new streaming app that offers soundtracks from various Nintendo games, including Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and The Legend of Zelda.

Users can create playlists based on their listening habits, hide songs to avoid spoilers for unfinished games, and even extend tracks to play for up to 60 minutes.
