Thousands of TikTok users experienced an outage as the popular social media platform went offline for a significant number of people.
According to DownDetector, a live outage tracking site, over 31,000 users in the United States reported problems with TikTok.
The issues began around midnight, when users started reporting disruptions. About 78 percent cited problems with the app itself, while 21 percent said they faced difficulties with the server connection.
By approximately 6 a.m., the platform appeared to have resolved the situation, although TikTok did not share any updates or acknowledgments about the outage on its official social media channels.
Frustrated users turned to X to express their concerns and check whether others were experiencing the same issue. The platform was quickly filled with posts about the disruption.
One user humorously captioned a sped-up video of people heading down an escalator, writing, “Everybody on their way to Twitter after TikTok went down.” Many others noted that TikTok displayed an error message claiming there was a problem with their internet connection.
